In our visits to Singapore, one of the places that we never fail to visit are its churches. Considering the multi-faceted culture of the people in Singapore, almost every race and religion imaginable has its own place of worship in the city. The striking contrast in architectural structures here is something to marvel at...well, at least for me.
Take for example St. Andrew's Cathedral, at 11 Andrew's Road.
It is an Anglican cathedral named after the patron saint of Scotland. Its towers and spire in Palladian style is a good backdrop if only for photo-ops for tourists like me.

I also love the stained glass windows in the altar.
Now St. Joseph's Church at 143 Victoria Street, is a Catholic church, this church is where we decided to do the stations of the cross. The church is an architectural marvel structured in the form of a Latin cross and boasts of beautifully crafted stained glass windows. Another striking feature about this Gothic building is its central octagonal tower, capped by a dome and flanked by two smaller towers.
It was so quiet inside that people could literally hear us arguing on which Stations of the cross prayer book we had was the most recent. :)
Sunday mass schedules: 8:30AM; 10:30AM and 5PM (all in English)
The last church we visited was St. Anne's Church in 66 Sengkang East Way.
Sunday masses are held every 7:15AM; 9:00AM; 11:00AM and 6:00PM in the afternoon and all are in English.
They have an adjacent all girls school and a small adoration chapel open daily from 7AM-9PM.
May God keep us all in his keeping and may Mama Mary keep us under her blanket of protection for the coming months.
Have a blessed observance of the Holy Week everyone!
