Blugre Coffee - Mindanao's Pride

With the emergence of foreign owned coffee shops in and around the entire archipelago, Blugre Coffee comes as a breath of fresh air. We take pride in knowing that this coffee shop is Mindanao's pride having originated from Davao and owned by Filipino coffee connoisseurs. Husband and wife team Gatchi and Larcy Gatchalian both Davaowenyos founded the coffee shop with their first branch in Davao year 1998.

In Gensan, People's champ and Gensan's pride Manny Paquiao together with wife Jinkee were the first franchisees bringing the Davao based brand in the city under the name MP Coffee Company.

Blugre has a number of coffee drinks but its signature brew is the Durian Gatchpuccino, a hot cappuccino with a blend of espresso and durian fruit. Its name is coined from the owner's name "Gatchi".

Of course not to be outdone, Ms. Larcy also has a coffee concoction named after her, the cold counterpart of the Durian Gatchpuccino - Durian Larcepuccino

Aside from its coffee drinks, Blugre also prides itself with its desserts. This Durian de Leche Cheesecake for example is a mainstay at their coffee shops and is perfect with about any drink hot or cold. This sumptuous treat costs about P110 per slice. But given that it is unique only to Blugre, it is worth the price.

Introducing, their latest cake/dessert --- Halo-Halo Torte. This yummy fare is a combination of all the things we love about the traditional halo-halo. A one of a kind cake that has ube cakes with  custard  and  macapuno-langka fillings. They have yet to serve this in their coffee shops, so for something new to your palate, try this distinctive dessert when you order your favorite coffee drink.

Blugre Coffee has three branches in Davao: Bajada, Matina and SM Davao and two branches in Gensan: Robinsons Place Gensan and at SM General Santos.
