Blackbeard's Seafood Island's Boodle Fight

It was my birthday, and one of my fellow bloggers suggested a burpday celebration with the Sox Bloggers at the newly opened
Blackbeard's Seafood Island
at SM Gensan.

Boy, we were in for some serious boodle fight! :)

We had so much fun when the food arrived that I forgot to take photos of the place. Sorry! :) While waiting for our food, we were served with these complimentary
Tuna Chicharon.

We ordered the Sultan Dulang, which was made up of chicken curry, grilled tuna panga, deep fried bihod, grilled prawns, beef rendang, yellow and plain rice. Good for 5-7 persons at P1,345 per boodle feast.

Another boodle feast we devoured is the Davao Gulf Boodle Feast which was a combination of chicken wings inasal, pork bbq, baby squid, steamed shrimps, grilled tuna laman, grilled imbao, shrimp and pomelo salad, lato salad, kinilaw na langka sa gata, grilled talong, salted egg, grilled tomatoes, kalkag rice, bagoong rice and crispy dulong rice. It is already good for 5-7 persons and will cost you about P1,365 per order.

It was my first time to experience a Boodle fight so I have no idea what it was about. For those who are not in the know (like moi :)... a "boodle fight" is a military style of eating where long tables are prepared and food are on top of the banana leaves. Viands and rice ready to eat using your bare hands, jugs of water are prepared on the side to wash hands before the "eating combat". With the signal to start the boodle fight, everyone aims for his/her position, eating with his/her hands.

It was loads of fun! A very unique experience. Perfect even for balikbayans who miss the traditional way of eating as well as for foreign guests. :)

Thanks for making my birthday fun Sox Bloggers! Indeed we are Mindanao's Funnest group of bloggers!

Blackbeard's Seafood Island is located at The ground floor, of SM City General Santos, at the al fresco dining area.
